Flu Shot Updates
Flu shots are available each year starting in october through flu season at our office for all our pregnant patients, and are highly recommended. There is minimal risk associated with the vaccine itself, but a potential high risk of complications from contracting the flu virus in pregnancy.

Mammography Controversy
The recent guidelines by a US task force suggest that some women in a "low risk" group can delay mammography screening until 50. At PIWH, we are weighing all the recent data critically. Even with the use of mammogram, annual exam, and self exam (which is also controversial), detection does not approach 100%.
Talk to your provider about mammography and what is right for you.
